Description from the seller
Aldo Rossi
Curated by Gianni Braghieri
Since Aldo Rossi (1931-1997) published his "Architettura Razionale" on the occasion of the XV Milan Biennale, he has been defined as the intermediary between History and Modernity. Both in his critique of the functionalists, as well as in his rejection of any form of personalization, and in his desire to reduce architecture to a small number of fundamental elements, we recognize the rationalist who seeks to rediscover architecture and to overcome the distance between humanity and construction. Undoubtedly, he appeals to clarity and dignity, to the measures and proportions of classicism, as it manifests, for example, in the ensemble of elemental and structured buildings by Palladio. This book collects all Rossi’s projects and completed works. The texts that comment on them are mostly drawn from the descriptions provided by Rossi himself on the occasion of official competitions, conferences and interviews.
Braghieri G.; Aldo Rossi. Paperback with flaps, 20 x 14 cm, 215 pages, language French/German; Zurich, Verlag fur Architektur / Artemis Zurich, 1984.
The volume is presented in excellent condition. Cover without defects. Paperback firmly bound. Interior pages clean with no creases or stains. More than excellent collector’s copy.
