Excellent-condition, single-volume French-language book titled Les voitures françaises 1920-1936.
Description from the seller
I propose a work that brings together the special issues (hors-séries) of the magazine "Automobilia," a magazine founded in April 1996 and which disappeared 15 years later, in April 2011. The "hors-séries," which numbered 44, were written entirely by the historian René Bellu, who possessed enormous documentation, and treated exhaustively all the French brands present, as well as those that did not have the means to rent a stand at the Grand Palais, at the Auto Show of the Salon de Paris of 1919 (model year 1920) up to the salon of 1982 (model year 1983).
The present work, superbly bound in the Netherlands, for a Dutch aficionado of rare documentation, covers the period model year 1920 to 1936 (salon years 1919 to 1935). Only the 1934 salon, model year 1935, which had previously been published by René Bellu, is not included.
It treats here not only the brands present at the Salon, but ALL French brands, including those that did not have a stand.
Thus, for model year 1920, no fewer than 65 French brands participated in the Salon, and the remaining 33 that existed are also treated, i.e., 98 French brands in all, including the smallest.
Over more than 600 pages, including more than 2000 period photos, illustrations and advertisements of that period, this work provides unique documentation on all the French automobile brands of that era.
A unique book for the historian as well as for the enthusiast of interwar automobiles.
