Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A trio of porcelain biscuit figurines from Unterweißbach, Germany, each about 18 cm high with 9.5 cm depth and width, in excellent condition with only one seated male statue missing fingers on one hand.
Description from the seller
Beautiful set of figurines produced in Germany by Unterweißbach in bisque porcelain.
Porzellanfabrik Unterweißbach was founded in the German region of Thuringia in 1882 by Herman Jost. Initially they produced tableware, but soon began making figurines. Eight years later the factory was acquired by Rudolf Mann and in 1892 the company merged with Fritz Porzelius, forming Porzellanfabrik Unterweißbach Mann & Porzelius.
Porzellanfabrik Unterweißbach later merged with the Aelteste Volkstedter manufactory, and in 1908 another merger came with Schwarzburger Werkstätten für Porzellankunst.
The Great Depression in the 1930s forced the company into bankruptcy and then into division. From 1936 to 1940 the Unterweißbach factory was owned by Karl Saar. In 1940 the Wallendorf-based Schaubach factory took over the business, reducing the workforce and focusing on the production of high-quality artistic porcelains.
In 1953 the company was nationalized by the East German government. After German reunification the company recovered its original name.
Produced in the 1950s or 1960s.
Size: 18 x 10 cm.
Excellent condition, only one figurine (the seated man) has missing fingers on one hand, the others are perfect.
