Description from the seller

Large covered casserole in enameled cast iron signed Fonderies de St Trond, a remarkable Belgian production from the mid-20th century, around the 1950s-1960s. A superb model with modernist lines, combining utilitarian elegance, professional robustness, and exceptionally refined ergonomic design.

Coated in a very beautiful celadon green exterior and a subtly blue interior, this piece immediately appeals with its timeless aesthetics. Its ingenious, lighter lid that can be recessed into the body of the pot recalls the functional research of the great European manufacturers of the era, notably the contemporary "plume" models from Le Creuset.

The Fonderies de St Trond were renowned for the quality of their cast iron, their sense of domestic modernism, and innovative ergonomics. Today disappeared since the early 1970s, the manufactory has become particularly sought after by collectors of European enameled cast iron.

This casserole bears the original markings:
FE for Fonte Émaillée
triangular three-point symbol, emblem of the manufacturer

Dimensions:
Total length with handles: 36 cm
Diameter: 30 cm
Height with lid: 19 cm
Height without lid: 13 cm
Weight: 5 kg

Condition in line with its age and use:
large wear chip on the lid handle
a small “ben” / interior mark visible
shine wear under the base
nicks and normal signs of use on the edges, overall sound, stable and perfectly functional.

Despite these signs of time, the piece retains an exceptional decorative presence and remains ideal for culinary use or a collection dedicated to the great European names of enameled cast iron.

Rare item on the market, even more so in this green color which is particularly decorative. An authentic piece for a vintage kitchen enthusiast, Belgian industrial design, chic country interiors, or a collector.

The productions of Fonderies de St Trond testify to an era when household objects combined durability, smart design, and elegance. This casserole is a superb example.

Very careful and protected shipping.
Best regards.
