Description from the seller
Mario Cucinella Architects
Edited by Marianna Guernieri and Giovanni Comoglio
Mario Cucinella Architects (MCA) is one of the most influential architecture studios internationally, founded in 1992 in Paris by Mario Cucinella and today based between Bologna and Milan. The firm’s signature stands out for a "Design for Life" approach, which places environmental sustainability and empathy between the building and its climatic and cultural context at the center. Each MCA project emerges from in-depth technical research conducted by the internal R&D department, which analyzes passive energy solutions and innovative materials to drastically reduce ecological impact. Among the studio’s most iconic works are Torre Unipol in Milan, characterized by an organic glass-and-wood structure, and the Santa Maria Goretti church in Calabria, an example of contemporary sacred architecture praised for its essential beauty. The studio is also known for experimental projects like TECLA, the first house entirely 3D-printed with locally sourced earth, which explores new frontiers of the circular economy. In addition to professional practice, Cucinella actively promotes education through SOS – School of Sustainability, a post-graduate school dedicated to future experts in ecological transition, consolidating the studio’s vision as a permanent laboratory of social and environmental innovation.
