Description from the seller
Antique manual coffee grinder Peugeot Frères, likely French-made, dating to the late 19th / early 20th century (circa 1880–1910).
The grinder features a distinctive solid wood construction, square in shape, with a shaped base and upper frame. The upper part consists of a sturdy metal mechanism with a large domed/bulging hopper and a long iron crank, ending with a turned wooden knob.
On the front, the oval factory mark Peugeot Frères remains visible, albeit worn with time, a detail that contributes to the object's attribution.
The original collecting drawer with a wooden knob is present, and the internal mechanism appears complete. The crank turns and all the main original parts are present.
The object retains a beautiful patina of age, with evident signs of use, wood wear, oxidation, and a natural patina on the metal parts. These signs are consistent with the object's age and use and highlight its authentic character.
