Description from the seller

Hand-forged Damascus kitchen knife
Damascus smithy Hans-Jürgen-Kugland, Warburg, Westphalia
Blade length: 17 cm, total length 31 cm

The blade, a combination of high-quality carbon steels, laminated damascus and hand-forged with a kerf-forging technique into the characteristic Damascus pattern, is renowned for its razor-sharp edge, flexibility, and edge retention.

The blade collar (bolster) was made from nickel silver. In these bolsters, the knife blades are not simply snugly inserted, riveted, or glued, as with most knives on the market, but is seamlessly welded. This prevents liquids, such as meat juices, from entering; the knife is easy to clean and stays sterile.

For the handle material, well-aged desert ironwood with high density and hardness was used. It swells hardly with water and is insensitive to humidity. In addition, the handle wood was impregnated with natural hard oils.
