The Leica MDa was developed as a specialized work camera—uncompromisingly reduced to function.

Without a viewfinder and rangefinder, it is aimed at users who work consciously and with control.

In combination with telephoto optics (e.g., Hektor 135mm) and external viewfinders (e.g., TEWE or Visoflex), a system for precision rather than comfort is created.
