Description from the seller
Located in Rome, Italy. Very important: needs to be properly disassembled as it hardly fits into the existing corridor
Two-part antique Italian library cabinet in solid walnut, produced in Italy in the early 20th century in the Neoclassical / Umbertino style.
Upper section features six doors fitted with original diamond-pattern brass wire mesh, enclosing adjustable shelving. Separated by fluted pilasters with carved rosette medallions. Crowned with a deep cornice decorated with egg-and-dart carved frieze.
Lower section comprises a row of drawers with original brass label holders and ring pulls, above six panelled cupboard doors with original brass escutcheons and keys.
Construction: solid walnut throughout, traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery without metal fixings. The cabinet is composed of three separate sections for ease of assembly and transport.
Hardware: all original cast brass — escutcheons, keys, drawer pulls and door handles.
Condition: good overall, consistent with age. Minor chip to upper cornice moulding. One drawer pull missing (ring only). Wood surface retains original patina.
Dimensions:
H 245 cm × W 300 cm × D 43–44 cm
Location: Rome, Italy. Buyer responsible for collection and transport as well disassembling and getting down from the 2nd floor. No packing materials available.
