AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Dom-Dom Domino by Alan Warner. Early stage size.
Very rare vintage collectible magic trick from 1975.
In reasonable condition, considering age. Everything works.
Some wear shows, see detailed pictures.

This is one of Alan’s very early Children’s effects with super large (9.5″ x 4.5″) dominoes so they can be seen by the whole party. The effect is very similar to the close-up effect do-mini-o though in fact the color change with this effect for the final domino uses all three ribbon colors (The painted close-up effect uses one color each and the teak close-up effect uses two colors.)

What is particularly satisfying about this effect is not only is it very solid, easy to do, and visual but the dominoes have a double locking action so they can be handled freely before and after should you desire.

A rare vintage beauty you don’t see very often.

Effect: Three large WHITE-FACED dominoes with BLACK SPOTS and a slim, empty wooden cover are freely displayed? A red ribbon is draped over the open end of the cover and one of the dominoes is dropped into the cover. Some of the ribbon is, of course, forced down into the cover by the weight of the domino, but the ends of the ribbon remain outside the cover.

The performer now takes hold of the ends of the ribbon and pulls downwards on them. This action causes the domino to rise out of the cover and it is now seen that THE DOMINO’S BLACK SPOTS EAVE CHANGED TO RED, matching the color of the ribbon. The effect is repeated with the second domino, using a green ribbon, and again the spots on the domino change, this time to green. This leaves the performer with one more domino and a yellow ribbon, but this time he decides to drape not only the YELLOW RIBBON over the cover but the RED AND GREEN ones previously used as well. The last domino is then dropped into the cover, the three coloured ribbons are pulled downwards and A MULTI-COLORED DOMINO IS REVEALED – A GREAT CLIMAX TO AN UNUSUAL, COLORFUL EFFECT!

The effect is exactly as described above: SELF-CONTAINED AND COMPLETELY AUTOMATIC IN WORKING and easy to do.
