Description from the seller
Clase Azul Mezcal Durango is made with Cenzio agave from Durango, located at high altitudes northeast of Jalisco in Mexico, where this agave grows wild. Mezcal Durango is a more elegant version of the agave spirit mezcal with hints of herbs, green olives and citrus.
The bottle is designed to show the production process where the agave is baked on black volcanic rocks after being harvested in the wilderness. These volcanic rocks give the mezcal a natural light smokiness. The top of the bottle is called Shakira and is an ancient ornamental technique where each bead is placed by hand.
Clase Azul is a family-owned producer of premium tequila and mezcal in the small village of Santa Maria Canchesda in Los Altos, in the highlands of Jalisco in Mexico. The collaboration with and respect for the indigenous Mazahuas people, and their ancient tradition of ceramics and painting techniques, has given Clase Azul its distinctive bottles. Each bottle takes 11 days to make and because all bottles are shaped and painted entirely by hand, each bottle is completely unique.
