Description from the seller

This refined fold-down writing desk in the Louis XV style, dating from the second half of the nineteenth century, stands out for its sinuous lines and elegant legs with gilded metal caps. The piece is entirely embellished with an accurate rosewood veneer laid in a herringbone pattern, with delicate inlays decorating the front of the fall-front. When opened, the fall-front reveals a red leather writing surface and an internal functional 'castle', composed of small drawers and compartments that reflect the craftsmanship and decorative taste typical of the century.

Dimensions: 90x81x40 cm

The furniture is in generally good and original condition, with a solid structure and well-defined inlays. As visible in the photographs and typical for an antique item, there are minor localized losses of material in the inlays and widespread surface flaws related to age and use. These marks do not compromise the aesthetics but attest to the object's authenticity and history.

Please observe the photographs carefully, as they are an integral part of this description.

Given the dimensions, local pickup is preferable, about 1 hour from Milan. Tracked shipping including secure packaging; any duties and customs taxes will be borne by the buyer.
