Decorative ornament - Belgium - Radiant Monstrance

This rare and extremely refined devotional piece concerns a STRALENMONSTRANS, fully crafted in the technique of papercut filigree. The object is a beautiful example of Baroque religious art from the 18th-century Southern Netherlands (Flanders), Mechelen, Poor Clares convent.
The monstrance is composed of countless, meticulously twisted strips of gilded and colored paper, decorated with glass paste beads in symbolic colors.
Agnus Dei or a reliquary imitation
The object is housed in an original display cabinet with authentic hand-blown glass, which is essential for the conservation of the fragile paper.
