French Cartel Wall Clock – Japy Frères – 19th century

Elegant French cartel wall clock by Japy Frères, signed and numbered (No. 36865), dating to the late 19th century.

Richly decorated rococo-style case made of gilt brass, with deep relief ornamentation and openwork elements. The design is very decorative and typical for high-quality French production of this period.
Original enamel dial with Arabic numerals and finely shaped gilt hands. Two winding holes.
The movement is signed Japy Frères and stamped with the medal mark. Cleaned and serviced – the clock is fully functional and keeps good time.

Strikes the hours and half-hours on a bell.

Condition:
Very good overall condition with minor signs of age consistent with time. Case and dial well preserved.
