GENERAL
This 1986 Jaguar XJ-S 3.6 is one of the most interesting and sought-after configurations in the range, standing out for its inline-six engine delivering 224 hp. It is the manual version, a variant prized by enthusiasts for offering a more direct and purer driving experience compared to the usual automatic versions. The unit has had only three owners since its debut and is in very good overall condition, reflecting consistent and careful maintenance over the decades.
BODYWORK AND PAINT
The bodywork is in a very positive state with an elegant and well-preserved image that is fully in line with the vehicle’s overall level. It retains the commanding presence and distinctive lines that made the XJ-S a benchmark of international sporting luxury in the 1980s. The paint preserves good shine and the panels show proper alignment, preserving the original aesthetic of this great British grand tourer without significant alterations.
MECHANICS
Mechanically, the vehicle operates smoothly and progressively, offering a soft yet characterful ride when asked. A complete service has recently been carried out, including oil changes and the installation of a new battery to guarantee reliability. Spark plugs have also been replaced and injectors cleaned to optimize the performance of the 3.6 engine. Thanks to its manual transmission, the driving experience is much more dynamic and engaging than in other units from the era.
INTERIOR
The cabin is in very good condition, maintaining the classic and distinguished Jaguar atmosphere. The upholstery and interior finishes have been well cared for, showing minimal wear for its age and use. The wood elements and dashboard controls retain their integrity, ensuring that both the driver and passenger enjoy the comfort and refinement that define this model.
DOCUMENTATION
The car has all its paperwork in order and has just passed the ITV with no major defects. It is fully ready for immediate transfer to the new owner, meeting all legal requirements to be driven on the road.
PICK-UP
For vehicle delivery, transport can be arranged via companies specialized in classic car logistics. It is important to note that the final cost of this service will vary depending on the destination requested by the buyer.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Request help with registration from a third-party service provider.Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
