Description from the seller

A good size German Art Nouveau jardinière, measuring circa 29cm in diameter and weighing 731g, decorated to the walls with sweeping, organic shapes. Stamped to the underside with Orivit manufacturer´s mark (1898-1914). Orivit was originally the trademark name for a patented metal alloy similar to pewter that when polished, would shine like silver. This was achieved by replacing the lead with antimony and silver.

The Orivit manufactory was acquired by WMF and the trade mark was discontinued in 1914.

Condition: Very good, no significant damages or repairs. Minor wear commensurate with age.

This lot will be carefully packaged and sent by registered and insured mail.
