Rug - 415 cm - 100 cm - Mat - Beluch

This is an ancient Baluch rug from Central Asia (also called Balouch, Balochi, Baluchi, Baluch or Beluchi). A rug from the Baluchistan region with a rare and beautiful color and material composition of high quality such as wool and dyes.

These rugs were woven by the nomads of the Baloch tribes. The nature, animal figure motifs, religious beliefs in Baluchi prayer rugs, and the objects of interest and use by the tribe and village inhabitants are depicted in these designs. They are mostly geometric designs with lines and fields that create abstract and non-abstract motifs. The Mehrabi is a prayer rug drawn in Balochi style and usually features a mihrab or an arch at one end of the rug. The material they are made from is typically wool or a wool and goat-hair blend; the more recent rugs have a cotton warp and sturdy wool wefts.

Baloch rugs tend to be a dark combination of reds, browns and blues, with touches of white.
