Chiro, My Love, a 112-page Japanese photobook by Nobuyoshi Araki (2002) in good condition, documenting his intimate photographs of his cat Chiro.
Description from the seller
Description:
This is Chiro, My Love (愛しのチロ) by 荒木経惟, one of Japan’s most influential and provocative photographers.
Unlike conventional photobooks, this work is deeply personal. It documents Araki’s intimate relationship with his beloved cat “Chiro,” capturing moments of affection, presence, and quiet reflection. Through simple yet powerful black-and-white photographs, the book explores themes of love, life, and loss—core elements that define Araki’s photographic philosophy.
Far beyond a typical “cat photobook,” this title is considered part of Araki’s I-photography (私写真), where the boundary between life and art dissolves. The emotional weight and poetic narrative make it highly appreciated among collectors of Japanese photography.
Condition:
The book is in good condition for its age.
There are some minor signs of wear, including slight surface marks and light aging.
No major damage that affects readability or appreciation of the photographs.
Please refer to the photos for details.
