"Bedouin", very beautiful portrait from the late nineteenth century (Algeria), by Lehnert and Landrock.
Very fine vintage silver print in good condition (scuffs/traces on the borders).
Very nice preservation of contrasts, grayscale nuances and levels of detail.
Signed by an L&L stamp on the negative.

Lehnert & Landrock is a famous Orientalist photographic studio founded in the early 20th century by Rudolf Lehnert and Ernst Landrock, active in Tunis and then in Cairo. Known for its views, portraits and scenes of North Africa and the Orient, it widely disseminated refined and commercial imagery of the Arab world to the European public.
