Description from the seller

Circa 1870, 22x28 cm.
"Ottomaneau Burqu'", a very beautiful portrait from the end of the nineteenth century attributed to P. Sebah.
Very fine gelatin-silver albumen print of large format and period in very good condition, mounted on a cardboard backing.
Very good preservation of contrasts, gray tones, and levels of detail.

Pascal (P.) Sebah was one of the leading photographers active in Constantinople in the second half of the nineteenth century. His studio, located in the heart of the city, quickly became a reference for travelers and diplomats seeking images of the Ottoman Empire and Egypt.
Sebah produced portraits, scenes of “types” and monumental views with great technical mastery and careful staging.

It will be shipped with its case and its cardboard backing on neutral pH (ideal for a collection in good condition).
