Pascal (P.) Sebah is one of the great photographers active in Constantinople in the second half of the 19th century. His studio, located in the heart of the city, quickly became a reference for travelers and diplomats seeking images of the Ottoman Empire and Egypt.
Sebah produces portraits, scene-types and monumental views with great technical mastery and careful staging.
