Description from the seller

Circa 1880, 20x25 cm.
"Arabian Dancers," a very beautiful portrait from the late nineteenth century by the Zangaki brothers.
A very fine albumen print, large format and period piece in very good condition, mounted on cardboard.
Excellent preservation of contrasts, grayscale nuances, and levels of detail.
Labeled and signed in the negative.

The Zangaki brothers (Georges and Constantin Zangaki) are photographers of Greek origin active in Egypt in the last decades of the 19th century, mainly between the 1870s and 1890s. They worked primarily in the regions of the Suez Canal, the Nile, and major archaeological sites frequented by European travelers. Their output sits within the context of the development of tourism in Egypt after the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869.

Will be shipped with its sleeve and neutral-pH cardboard backing (ideal for a collection kept in good condition).
