Silver, Great Art Deco Cigale - Brooch

Beautiful large silver Art Deco brooch from the 1920s/1930s in the shape of a 'Cigale' (night insect). The pin is made of base metal. Marked: French Crab (800/1000 silver). N.B. The Cigale is a creature rich in symbolism: recurring themes are revival, immortality, spiritual realization and spiritual ecstasy.

Very good condition – a little used with small signs of wear.
