Jean Geiser (1848-1923) is one of the most important photographers of colonial Algeria at the end of the 19th century. Of Swiss origin, he settled in Algiers around 1873 and founded a photographic studio that would quickly become one of the most renowned in North Africa. His work is part of the Orientalist photography tradition. He produced thousands of images intended for travelers, colonists and European collectors: views of towns, landscapes, street scenes, portraits of inhabitants and studio compositions featuring dancers, musicians or characters in “exotic” costume.

Will be shipped with its case and its cardboard support on neutral pH (ideal for a collection in good condition).
