A few clarifications:
The platter is mounted on springs and I’ve never seen an easier way to disassemble a spring-loaded turntable.
The Start/Stop position must be held for about one second, and it starts the record or interrupts it.
The Repeat position loops the record, starting playback if the record was stopped.
The UP/Down position is semi-automatic: you can take control of the tonearm from this point, but leaving the Down position the arm lift is automatic. The button does not move by itself; you must choose. When you place the arm with this switch, it is a silky-smooth touch that lowers the arm.
