Mary Gregory - Vase - Glass

A finely executed late 19th-century art glass vase, France, circa 1880–1900, rendered in a rich translucent blue ground with delicate white cameo-style decoration. The body is beautifully adorned with a charming figural scene of a young boy holding a net within a stylised landscape, executed in softly etched relief typical of French decorative glass of the period. The elegant baluster form rises to a distinctive crimped and applied ruffled rim, which retains subtle traces of original gilding, adding refinement and depth. The interplay of colour, light, and finely detailed decoration gives the piece a strong visual presence despite its modest scale. A highly decorative and collectible example of French art glass from the late 19th century.
