The Turkmen are a very ancient people who have lived in the area from the Caspian Sea to the western border of China for more than 1,500 years. They are divided into various tribes of varying sizes and have abandoned their formerly nomadic culture to become sedentary. The most important groups are the Tekke, Yomut, and Salor tribes. They are by far the largest population group in Turkmenistan today, living in the northern parts of Afghanistan and Iran. In the central field the characteristic Gul is repeated six times. In perfect condition.
