18th-century brass snuffbox, probably of Dutch origin, used to store snuff tobacco.
Material: Brass or copper engraved with a guilloché technique.
Decoration: Maritime scene showing a ship and people in a small boat.
Inscription: Presence of an engraved legend, probably in Dutch.
Use: Collectible item historically intended for storing snuff.
