Description from the seller
These two wall sconces present a design clearly inspired by the Empire style, reinterpreted in the early twentieth century, when this decorative language experienced a renaissance in domestic and representative lighting. They are made of gilded metal, probably brass, with ornamentation based on volutes, curved arms, and classical finials that evoke the neoclassical aesthetic associated with the Napoleonic period: symmetrical balance, elegant lines, and a solemn yet decorative air.
Each sconce features two arms ending in electric candle-holders with wax-like covers, a resource common in the first decades of the twentieth century to maintain a traditional appearance while electric lighting was adopted. They have been electrified recently, although the wiring system shows the need for a complete modernization to ensure safety and optimal operation. Nevertheless, the metal framework and decorative elements remain in good condition, preserving the classic character and the decorative presence that make them so attractive in historically inspired interiors.
Certified shipping and good packaging.
