Hand mirror in carved, inlaid and pyrographed wood. Sorrento, 19th century.
42 x 18 cm.
Small Sorrentine hand mirror from the second half of the 19th century, in wood decorated with inlay and pyrography techniques, characteristic of the artisan production of the Sorrentine peninsula. The handle and frame feature geometric and floral motifs executed in both techniques, in keeping with the tradition that made local craftsmanship famous among Grand Tour travellers and the international clientele of the period.
Condition report: Good general condition, with two small losses in the carved areas.

• All shipments are handled with professional packaging. The frame, if present, is to be understood as a gift and therefore its structural integrity during transport is not guaranteed.
