Antique swivel office chair in solid oak, attributed to the second half of the 19th century (circa 1850–1900), bearing a “Standard” registered mark (“Marque déposée”), indicating production for the French-speaking market (France or Belgium).
The chair features a classic slatted backrest, shaped seat, and armrests, supported by a four-legged wooden base with a metal swivel mechanism. Its functional design reflects early office furniture traditions transitioning from handcrafted to more utilitarian production.
The wood shows a rich grain and a well-developed patina, consistent with age and use. The construction is solid and stable, and the swivel mechanism remains functional.
A characterful and authentic piece, combining practical design with historical charm, suitable for both traditional and eclectic interiors.
