Description from the seller

Antique swivel office chair – solid oak – “Standard” mark – France/Belgium – 1850–1900

Description:
Antique swivel office chair in solid oak, attributed to the second half of the 19th century (circa 1850–1900), bearing a “Standard” registered mark (“Marque déposée”), indicating production for the French-speaking market (France or Belgium).

The chair features a classic slatted backrest, shaped seat, and armrests, supported by a four-legged wooden base with a metal swivel mechanism. Its functional design reflects early office furniture traditions transitioning from handcrafted to more utilitarian production.

Good overall condition with visible wear and patina consistent with age. Minor surface marks. Structurally sound.

Material:
Solid oak, metal mechanism

Origin:
France / Belgium
Period:
1850–19
