A Spanish-made Art Nouveau hanging lamp, model Araña, in brass with crystal elements, dating from 1950–1960, in good used condition and in working order, measuring 48 cm wide, 48 cm deep, 25 cm high, with a 40 cm ceiling drop.
Description from the seller
It is a ceiling lamp that perfectly captures that theatrical glamour of mid-20th-century Hollywood Regency, but softened by an organic touch that directly recalls Art Nouveau. The piece presents itself as a luminous semicircle, compact and exuberant, where the golden metal acts as both frame and jewelry at the same time. The gold is not subtle: it is warm, bright, almost solar, designed to multiply reflections and create an enveloping aura of luxury.
The metal structure opens into radii that recall petals or leafy ribs, a clear nod to modernist language. Between these radii are inserted rows of faceted crystals that cascade downward, forming a translucent skin that diffuses the light and turns it into flashes. The overall effect is that characteristic mix of the period: opulence without heaviness, fantasy without losing elegance.
Some joints appear slightly separated, a common feature in lamps of this era that have been manipulated or stored, but they are pieces that fit back together easily once hung, when gravity and the structure itself help everything return to place. Essentially, it is a lamp that turns the ceiling into a small stage, capable of adding drama, shine, and a touch of cinematic nostalgia to any space.
Shipped with certificate and good packaging.
