Antique Teapot in Victorian Style – Sheffield Silver Plated – Late 19th Century
Technical Data
Material: Silver-plated metal (Silver Plated / EPNS).
Estimated period: Late 1800s (Victorian Era, circa 1880-1900).
Style: Neoclassical / Victorian.
Craftsmanship: Body with beaded decoration (vertical grooves) on the lower part and an incised band with geometric/floral motifs on the upper part.
Details: Hinged lid with decorative knob; square ergonomic handle; slender spout with a fluted base coordinated to the body.
Detailed Description
Refined period teapot of English manufacture (Sheffield area), characterized by an unfading classic line. The body features a bevelled technique with grooves that create an elegant play of light on the silvered surface. The handle is fitted with small thermal insulators (usually bone or Bakelite) to allow handling even when the body is hot. This piece represents a classic example of domestic silverware of the late 19th-century upper middle class. For sale as shown in the photo with patina to be cleaned.
