Austria, Deutschösterreich 1920/1921, mint hinged (MH) condition.
Description from the seller
Postage stamps of the Republic of Austria (Deutschösterreich) from 1920–1921. During this period, due to rampant inflation, new colors were introduced for existing denominations and completely new, higher values.
Here is a detailed description and condition assessment:
Section descriptions
Top section (1920: Color change and new values): Color changes and new values. Here you will find, among others, denominations of 5, 10, 15, 25, 30 and 60 heller. A curiosity is the 30 heller stamp in brown (instead of the previous purple).
Middle section (1920: K.Z. 12 1/2): A perforated standard series, containing denominations from 5 heller to 1 crown. Among them, stamps with the postal horn (15 and 60 heller) and allegorical figures stand out.
Copperplate section (Kupferdruck): Four large horizontal stamps with the view of the Parliament in Vienna. These are high denominations: 2, 5, 7 1/2 and a very high for the time denomination of 50 crowns (in a gray-violet color).
Bottom section (1920/21: Weißes Papier): Issues on white paper, including denominations of 80 heller and 1, 1 1/2, 2 and 2 1/2 crowns.
Condition
Visual: The stamps appear to be very well preserved. Colors are fresh and saturated, with no signs of sun fading.
Perforation: Complete and regular on most copies.
Storage: The stamps are placed in Hawid protectors (protective sleeves). Some are slightly shifted, suggesting they are not glued permanently, which is very favorable.
Cancellation: Most (if not all) appear to be in mint (uncancelled) condition. No obvious postmarks.
Collecting value
This is a typical philatelic set from the inflation period. The most interesting item on this page is the high denomination 50 crowns from the Parliament series.
