Art Deco vase from France, blown glass set into a wrought-iron frame, circa 1910s–1920s, 16.5 × 20 × 20 cm, weight about 4.4 kg, in good vintage condition with a professionally restored rim chip.
Description from the seller
Art Deco Vase – Blown Glass in Wrought Iron Frame – France – 1910s
An impressive and heavy (4,4Kg) French Art Deco vase, crafted using the remarkable soufflé-dans-le-fer (“blown into iron”) technique. This decorative object is executed in the characteristic style associated with the famous collaborations between Daum Nancy and Louis Majorelle, and reflects the refined craftsmanship of the Nancy school during the golden age of French Art Deco.
The thick blown glass body displays a beautiful marbled and mottled texture with striking inclusions of blue and violet tones on a warm peach-orange base. Because the molten glass was blown directly into the hot wrought iron framework, the glass gently expands between the forged metal sections, creating a strong sculptural and three-dimensional effect.
The hand-forged wrought iron mount features elegant geometric lines and visible hammered texture, typical of high-quality French Art Deco metalwork from the 1920s–1930s. A true collector’s piece and an exceptional decorative statement for both classic and modern interiors.
Dimensions: 16.5 x 20 x 20 cm (h x w x d)
Weight: approximately 4.4 kg
Origin: France (Nancy region)
Period: Art Deco, circa 1920–1930

A fine example of French Art Deco decorative arts, where glassmaking and ironwork were combined into one harmonious sculptural object.
