Description from the seller

Beautiful vintage Japanese deba knife with an authentic look and a rich history visible in the blade. This traditional fish knife is designed for precision work such as filleting, boning, and processing fish, but can also be perfectly used for more robust cutting.

The blade bears clear signs of age and use, giving the knife a unique character. These imperfections do not detract from the functionality – the knife is sharp and ready for use. On the contrary, the patina and signs of use underscore the quality and craftsmanship.

The kanji on the blade seem to refer to a traditional Japanese maker, “濃州孫六作” (Nōshū Magoroku saku), a name often associated with blades from the Seki region, known for its long forging tradition.

With a total length of 30 cm, this knife offers a nice balance and power, typical for a deba. The wooden handle sits comfortably in the hand and matches the classic Japanese design nicely.

An ideal piece for both the lover of Japanese knives and the cook seeking a characterful and functional work knife.
