Exceptionally signed copy on the front matter page by Ferdinando Scianna in a collection created and directed by Ferdinando Scianna, unique and unobtainable in a signed copy and extremely rare in an unsigned copy. 64 pages and 26 black-and-white photographs, text in Italian by Roberto Leydi, layout by Ferdinando Scianna and Franco Sciadelli. Paperback edition with a soft illustrated cover. In excellent condition.
Ignazio Buttitta (1899 – 1997) is an Italian dialect poet born in Bagheria, in the same town as Ferdinando Scianna. His favored themes are war, peasants, workers, the poor of his region and the daily problems of life. In 1972, he received the literary Premio Viareggio. In 1980, he became honorary doctor of the Faculty of Education at the University of Palermo. His poems have been translated into French, Spanish, Greek, Romanian, Mandarin and Russian.
