An impressive, large-format amethyst geode from Brazil is being auctioned. The piece features a deep crystal cavity, in which there is a rare peculiarity: several beige-colored calcite crystal aggregates have grown directly on the violet amethyst tips.
The outer edge consists of an aesthetic, light-gray banded agate layer, which provides a gentle contrast to the dark violet of the amethyst.
The underside is precisely cut, so the druse stands stably without any additional support.
An excellent display piece for collectors of sophisticated parageneses or as a high-quality natural object for interior decoration. The original collector’s card (documented in 1997) is part of the auction
