Moises Saman - Discordia - 2016

Discordia is a 2016 photobook by Magnum photographer Moises Saman, documenting his four years (2011-2014) covering the Arab Spring in the Middle East. It presents a non-linear, personal narrative of the uprisings, combining his photojournalism with photo collages by Daria Birang, which isolate and repeat gestures from the events to create a new meaning beyond traditional news coverage. The book moves away from a linear journalistic structure, using extended sequences and juxtapositions to convey the overlapping, uncertain experience of the conflict.
