Description from the seller
Areta floor lamp produced by Philips in the 1960s. Its design style reflects some of the typical characteristics of Milanese architects of the 1960s, such as the use of futuristic and functional forms and the combination of modern materials like chrome-plated metal; the height-adjustment mechanism allows you to tailor the illumination to the required heights. In reality, many Philips lamps from that period are the result of the work of internal design teams and collaborations, rather than a single individual. For this reason, attribution may vary depending on sources and interpretations.
The lamp is in good overall condition and functional. Subtle rust speckling on the chrome finishes, without hindering the sliding movement of the sliders (visible in the photos)
The lamp is equipped with a fairly heavy counterweight at the base to keep it stable.
