A Rectangular hardstone ‘Inscribed’ Paperweight, 20th century.

The paperweight is carved from a fine piece hardstone, of elongated rectangular form with well-defined and balanced proportions. The stone is of pale celadon-white tone, with a smooth, lustrous surface and natural areas of russet inclusions, indicative of age and material character. The ends are decorated with key-fret borders, lending a sense of order and refinement to the composition.
