Description from the seller
Exceptionally signed copy on the title page by Franco Fontana (born 1933), unique and unavailable on the internet in a signed copy and virtually unavailable in an unsigned copy. Original edition published by the publishing house created by Luigi Ghirri; 80 pages and 60 full-page color photographs, text in Italian and in English by Helmut Gernsheim, a famous photography historian, soft cover titled. In excellent condition.
A cult book. This book was published in 1978 by a publishing house that the photographer Luigi Ghirri had just created, and it’s the first book he chose to publish even before publishing his own Kodachrome. As the book’s credits indicate, Luigi Ghirri and his wife Paola Borgonzoni were responsible for the layout and design of Skyline (see photo).
Franco Fontana was born in 1933 in Modena (Italy). From the outset of his photography career he opted for color and quickly became interested in the representation of the landscape, of which he became the undisputed master. Eliminating all superfluous elements from his images, he combines lines, shapes and colors with great economy of means, which allows him to reach a level of abstraction similar to Modenese painting.
Vintage copy in excellent general condition with a trace of impact at the bottom right (see photo). Book from my personal collection kept with great care. Protected shipping with reinforced packaging and international tracked postage guaranteed. In case of multiple purchases, grouped shipping is possible with a refund of any excess postage paid via PayPal.
