The camedia 8080 is the last of the Camedia high-end series. Like the others (7070 6060 5050) it is a camera designed by taking professional SLRs as a model, compacting the features into a body with a fixed lens and performance, for its time really surprising… offering a resolution and color rendering of a high level.
Although it is an evolution of the 7070 (always my favorite) the camera remains more delicate than its predecessors perhaps to limit its weight without losing features. The zoom evolution is the touch that was missing from its predecessors. Always excellent the brightness of the lenses, which here starts at f/2.4. The menu is simple and intuitive, classic of Olympus and especially of the Camedia series, making it easy to use even for beginners while maintaining important prerogatives for professionals who can push it to professional levels.
I paired it with a custom-fit case for it and its various accessories.
It remains an excellent machine, very versatile in every occasion including desk work.
