Ancient Greek ceramics - Cyprus
Minoan jug in glossy red ceramic dating to the Early Bronze Age III (2100-2000 BC)
Globular body with a flat base, slightly bulging, high conical neck, vertical handle linking the top of the neck to the shoulder.
This pitcher is made of glossy red ceramic. Vessels like this were fairly common in the early and middle Bronze Age.
Cyprus, Bronze Age, Minoan period, 2100–2000 BC.
Height 15.4 cm - Width 10.7 cm - Very good condition - no restorations
Provenance information: Germany, K.L.S. Gallery.
