Icon painted on a wooden panel depicting Christ Pantocrator in bust, blessing with his right hand and holding the opened Gospel with the left hand. The golden cruciform halo bears the Greek letters “Ο Ω Ν” (He Who Is).
The Cyrillic inscription on either side clearly identifies the subject:
“Образ Господь Вседержитель” (Image of the Lord Almighty).
The open book presents text in Church Slavonic, corresponding to a biblical quotation.
In the upper corners, two medallions depict crowned saints.
Traditional tempera on levkas technique, brown background with gold highlights.
Panel composed of several boards joined together, with crossbars on the reverse (typical construction).
