Description from the seller

Exceptional Ancient Egyptian Alabaster Jar - XVIII Dynasty

Description:
A superb and large ancient Egyptian ovoid vessel, masterfully carved from a single block of translucent calcite (Egyptian alabaster). Measuring 128 mm in height, this jar exhibits the classic proportions and refined craftsmanship of the New Kingdom (XVIII Dynasty), a period renowned for its mastery of stone vessels.
The vase features an elegant ovoid body tapering to a stable base, with a wide, flattened rim characteristic of luxury cosmetic or ointment containers.

Material & Visual Analysis
The stone displays an extraordinary natural aesthetic with distinct horizontal banding and a "waxy" semi-translucency. When backlit, the internal crystalline structure becomes visible, confirming its authenticity. A notable feature is a natural iron oxide inclusion (a reddish-brown spot), which serves as a unique mineral "fingerprint," guaranteeing that the piece was carved from a natural, solid block of stone rather than modern composites.
