Ashtray, paperweight, or catchall by the great Italian glassmaker Cenedese, in the Sommesso technique. The beauty of the colors, which I couldn't quite capture, is fantastic, with this deep ocean blue inset in a pale purple block—a rare, bold, and thus surprising combination. The piece is made of solid, very heavy glass, 2.6 kg!!! It grabs attention and reveals its full brilliance when placed on a light stand, on white—it's incredible. In perfect condition, the manufacturer’s label present.
