This impressive Malachite stalactite slab shows the full expressiveness of this copper mineral in its raw, naturally grown form. The surface is characterized by densely packed, botryoidal and stalactitic growths, forming a vivid relief in a range of greens—from deep forest green to bright, almost emerald hues. Particularly fascinating are the cut stalactites with their clearly recognizable concentric rings, recording the mineral's slow growth like tree rings.
The interplay of a velvety-matte texture and selectively slightly glossy patches gives the piece a strong three-dimensional effect. In its overall appearance the slab seems archaic and powerful, yet harmoniously balanced.
