Royal Staffordshire - Jug - Earthenware - Antique pitcher.

Large antique Staffordshire jug, hand-painted and signed. The jug features an artfully painted, lifelike decoration of apples, blackberries and grapes, is signed and then glazed. Given the light calcareous bloom on the inside, I suspect it was used as a water jug. It could also have been part of a luncheon service. In addition, in wonderful condition, no chips or cracks and the gilded finish on the rim and handle remains intact.
