Description from the seller
ESU LokPilot Fx V3.0 Function Decoder, HO scale
With the LokPilot Fx V3.0 you can digitize unpowered locomotives and rolling stock. It features six function outputs for controlling typical functions such as interior lighting, shunting couplers and direction-dependent headlights in wagons or other functional models. The LokPilot Fx V3.0 is of course compatible with multiple protocols and its dimensions of 17.5 mm x 15.0 mm are small enough to fit in almost any model. The LokPilot Fx V3.0 is available in two versions: the “classic” version with an 8-pin NEM 652 harness and a version for the new 21-pin MTC interface.
Operating modes
The LokPilot Fx V3.0 supports both DCC with 14, 28 and 128 speed steps and Motorola. The decoder automatically detects the number of speed steps. The LokPilot Fx V3.0 decoder supports the Lenz LG100 and ROCO brake sections, as well as Zimo’s HLU commands, brakes in the DC section with reverse polarity, and the Märklin brake section (also for DCC). You can use short or four-digit addresses, or assign a traction address. The Motorola protocol allows the LokPilot Fx V3.0 to work with Märklin control units 6020, 6021, delta, mobile station and central station. The decoders support addresses 01–255 and stop correctly on the Märklin brake section. The LokPilot Fx V3.0 can automatically switch between all operating modes (Motorola, DCC, DC, AC, Selectrix) during operation.
Analog operation
Of course, locomotives equipped with the LokPilot Fx V3.0 can also be used without restriction in analog mode.
Features
The LokPilot Fx V3.0 has six function outputs, each rated at 250 mA, which can be assigned to a function individually: in addition to indicators, strobe lights and alternating flashing lights, there is a shell-fire simulation, as well as Marslight or Gyra light for American models. A time-controlled high-frequency output for digital couplings is also available. All function outputs can be dimmed individually in 15 steps. In DCC operation, each function output can be assigned to any function key between F0 and F12. In Motorola operation, F0 through F8 are recognized.
Settings
The LokPilot Fx V3.0 supports all DCC programming modes, including POM (Main Track Programming). All settings are also electronically configurable for Märklin 6020, 6021, Mobile Station and Central Station control units. For these control units, the LokPilot Fx V3.0 decoder offers a proven, user-friendly adjustment procedure. Changes made in Motorola mode also apply in DCC mode, and vice versa. The parameter setup is particularly convenient for users of our ECoS control unit: all options are displayed in clear text on the large screen and can be easily modified — even while driving!
Interaction
The LokPilot Fx V3.0 is optimally designed for interaction with the LokSound V3.5 and the LokPilot V3.0 decoders: for example, it is possible to equip a locomotive consist with a LokSound V3.5 decoder and the control car with a LokPilot Fx V3.0. When using the same address, both behave identically. The identical CV layout simplifies coordination of the two decoders.
RailCom
RailCom is activated as standard. With a suitable control unit such as our ECoS you can read CVs directly on the main track.
Protection
All function outputs are protected against overload and short circuit.
Future-proof
The LokPilot Fx V3.0 decoder can be upgraded via firmware. New software features can be added at any time with the ESU LokProgrammer.
